My name is Jose Alvarez and I am
fairly new to this group. I have posted before concerning Native American
Christian TV ministries. That is part of our vision. Non withstanding I work on
the graveyard shift at KCHF TV-11, Albuquerque, NM. Earl Crebo and TH Lee were
guests of Blackie Gonzales on the program "God Answers Prayer" last
week discussing "The Walk' and other issues pertaining to Native American
ministries. I watched the reruns while I was operating the station at 4:00AM.
As a white person called with my family from Miami Florida, to New Mexico, to
serve Native Americans in the gospel, I was amazed at how much Earl's vision is
almost a carbon copy of ours. I could sense in his heart as God has placed in
ours, a deep and persistent need from the Lord for us as white people to make
to make restitution to our Native American brethren not simply in word but in
deed. Earl mentioned something that is at the center of our hearts. I believe
that the purpose of Anglo ministers within the Native body is to come along
side of the Native body and assist them in their being raised up to be
missionaries abroad and around the world. The concept of having Anglo ministers
just pastoring Native churches is gone! What Earl was saying is that Anglo and Hispanic
ministers must assist the great Native body to assume its rightful position as
priests and kings. Richard Twiss of Wiconi had a tremendous missionary trip to
China. The Chinese as other countries are more opened to Native missionaries
than to Anglos. Some countries know what the Native person has been through,
and are very interested to find out what they have to say. The responsibility
of the Native believer is to take this vision high. Dinah Baca a New Mexico
pastor, who was on the show with Earl Crebo and TH Lee gave them a prophecy
that I have already heard numerous times being given to the Native body. It
comes from Isaiah and it says " To arise and shine for your time has come
and the glory of the Lord is upon you" This is God speaking, folks! In
conclusion the Native believer must aim higher and higher with a faith that
knows that God wants to send the Native body to the furthest ends of the earth.
God has gifted the Native people with spirituality and gifting humility, and a
sincerity that allows His anointing to flow in a very powerful way through
them. The Native believer must take a hold of that. For us as Anglo and
Hispanic ministers, our responsibility, repentance, and restitution lies in
laying down our lives for our Native brethren and minister to them so that may
be raised up to assume their God given destiny. We must be servants to the
Native body. I always the Lord performing this as an ongoing repentance and
restitution in my life. Wherever we preach and minister to Native believers God
has always had us verbally repent. One time even to point of getting on my
knees and repent to my Native brethren face to face . I will leave with you
with a testimony. In Ganado AZ we were invited to speak on Christian Indian TV.
This was at the Ganado Glory Temple. During the worship time God deeply
convicted me. In the spirit I saw all the people present as wonderful, gifted,
noble and intelligent people in the eyes of God. I felt deeply broken by the
sins of my forefathers and my race. I felt how stupid, deceived, and blind we
had been. When I got up to speak with tears in my eyes I asked the congregation
to forgive us. The whole service stopped. Two hundred people surrounded my
family. We embraced and wept. People came and verbally forgave us. One man gave
me his beautiful bolo tie from around his neck and put it on mine. The same
with a lady who put a necklace around my wife's neck. Hallelujah!! What a
victory. It is time to arise!!
