Subject: facing history
We need your help...
We have found in our travels as we present
Healing the Land to the
majority church that many of the people
are uninformed...they know a
limited amount of history and what history
they do know is biased..many
who know history are yet uninformed about
the injustices to the First
Nations people that are still taking
place. We have found it helpful to
them if we can put information in their hands
concerning these
injustices...the word of the Lord says
that the people perish for lack of
knowledge....
we are going to begin work on a pamplet or
book ..Facing History...Then
and Now....
in this we will list injustices done to
the Native peoples in the past
and what is still taking place today....an
example of THEN would be the
blankets given to the first nations with
smallpox
an example of NOW would be that the
Cherokee can not receive health care
if they leave the reservation..they must
travel back to North Carolina to
get help
another example of NOW would be that that
the Inuit of Alaska did not
officially become a people group until
October 1999
We would like to ask you if you might send
us information that you feel
should
be included in this pamplet..it cannot be heresay but confirmed
facts
also if you have articles that you can
foward on to us please do so...it
will also be helpful if you know of
resources as in books that we can
read to obtain such information
