ONE SKY INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTIONS, INC. was founded by Jeanie Greene in 1995 to facilitate the development of the social and cultural needs of Native Americans and in particular those needs of Alaskan Natives.

This non-profit organization is a product of the widely acclaimed television program Heartbeat Alaska. Recognizing the need to provide Alaskan Natives with career opportunities that benefit both the individual and the community, Heartbeat Alaska challenged ONE SKY INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTIONS, INC. to develop a training program that will provide the individual with professional career opportunities.

The program will afford the community the expertise of a resident videographer that is able to document local news for airing on Alaska networks and programs like HEARTBEAT ALASKA.

ONE SKY INTERNATIONAL PRODUCTIONS, INC. has responded to this challenge and is pleased to announce that classes will be starting soon!

COURSE OBJECTIVES

· To turn would-be television broadcasters into highly proficient television videographers.

· Through applied knowledge, introduce our trainees to every aspect of VIDEOGRAPHY.

· Through hands-on experience in all areas of the business, provide our trainees the experience necessary to land an entry-level position in the field of VIDEOGRAPHY.

· To help our trainees build their network of broadcasting by introducing them to as many industry professionals as possible.

· To allow our students, through workshops, lab programs and in-station training situations, to master the skills necessary to operate the basic equipment in a broadcast facility.

· To introduce our students to, and keep them informed of, new and innovative technologies affecting our industry.

· To build self-confidence and polish those skills necessary to be marketable in today's competitive careers.

· To assist each student in developing community networks

PROGRAM PHILOSOPHY

Since 1995, One Sky International Production, Inc. has been committed to excellence in the production and delivery of quality television programming.

For that reason, One Sky International Production, Inc. will not accept every applicant, nor keep apathetic enrollees in our VIDEOGRAPHY Training Program.

The successful applicant must demonstrate the aptitude, maturity, and desire necessary to embark on a broadcasting career. Our mission is not just to train people, but to launch new careers for those people willing to make a serious educational commitment.

In addition to learning the "fun and games" part of the broadcast industry, One Sky International Production, Inc. offers hands-on experience in all the areas necessary to start a career in VIDEOGRAPHY.

The better the understanding of broadcasting in general, the better the chances are for success.

Realizing there are no shortcuts to success, our philosophy is quite simple. Once the informed decision is made to enter the field of television broadcasting, we can show the student how to invest time to obtain the knowledge and develop the ability, through practice, to become a successful videographer.
